RADISH

Introduction

Aims of RADISH

To offer a befriending service for older people at home

To offer practical support with one-off tasks, form filling and occasional shopping

To offer signposting to information and support services.

RADISH was first formed in 2005
Radish is run entirely by volunteers, supported by Carers Forum / Carers Together.
Its support group is chaired by the Chair of Carers Forum, with members from Carers Together, Age Concern and Test Valley Borough Council.

RADISH operates from the office of Carers Together, with two volunteer co-ordinators each offering a few hours per week for administration and keeping in contact with befrienders.

Volunteers who offer their time are all subject to checks by the Disclosure & Barring Service. We would hope that they could offer one to two hours per week for visits to someone looking for a befriender.
